- to describe the relationship between written and visual communication with 90% accuracy.
- to explain the difference between the literal and figurative aspects of communication with 90% accuracy.
- to analyze the impact of digital communication in both literal and figurative terms with 90% accuracy.
- to express informed opinions using advanced English language competence, equivalent to level C2 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ( http://www.coe.int/t/dg4/education/elp/elpreg/Source/Key_reference/EAQUALSBank_levels_EN.pdf). Students whose work does not meet the CEFRL standard will be referred to the University Language Center for remedial assistance.

MODULE OBJECTIVES
- You will analyze a number of digital images of the Statue of Liberty and write a blog post explaining how one image (of your choice) symbolizes concepts associated with the American Dream. Your blog post will meet CEFRL level C2 standard at a minimum of 80% quality.
- You will discuss the symbolism of the Statue of Liberty with peers on the discussion forum in a manner that meets our discussion forum rubric at a minimum of 85% quality.
- Collaboratively with your assigned group, you will design a plan for your newsletter, specifying your objectives, the contribution that each individual will make and the schedule for completion of your project, using the Project Plan template provided. Your Project Plan will be evaluated using the "Project Proposal and the System Analysis and Design Deliverable Rubric" designed by the Eberly Center for Teaching Excellence at Carnegie Mellon University.
